ASSISTANT PROGRAM SPECIALIST
 

 

Anchor Recovery Center of NNY along with Pivot is seeking an Assistant Program Specialist to build appropriate and effective programming for individuals and families affected by any/all addictions. The assistant program specialist will manage evening and weekend hours professionally. This individual should possess excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills, and be a motivator of change.  

Job Duties:

  • Work afternoon, evening and weekend hours as indicated by the needs of the population in our community
  • Supervise peers, volunteers, and participants, provide building safety checks during scheduled hours of operation
  • Recruit peers, volunteers, and program development
  • Uphold the integrity of participants, peers, volunteers, and Anchor Recovery Center
  • Be an active, creative thinker – able to spear-head and encourage/foster change
  • Maintain crisis intervention
  • Demonstrate, accept, and understand the different modalities of treatment 
  • Provide administrative & IT support, to include maintaining various social media sites
  • Act as the liaison between Anchor Recovery Center and participants/volunteers of the Center
  • Ensure staff maintains all patient confidentiality and privacy guidelines
  • Demonstrate positive choices, good judgment, appropriate decision making, and excellent conflict resolution skills with participants and volunteers  
  • Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication skills, self-confidence, and professional maturity

Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree, although experience with recovery community will be considered. Credentials and certifications are a plus. Support the mission of the Anchor Recovery Center as well as the individuals who have been impacted by substance use. The recovery community deserves competence, mindfulness, and sensitivity to multicultural backgrounds ensure the best advocacy outcomes.

This is a full-time, 35 hour per week position.  Excellent salary and benefit package. Prevention Counselor / Educator
 

 

Pivot is seeking a full-time Prevention Counselor/Educator to provide information and referral services, short-term solution focused counseling and an array of community prevention services including public education, evidenced-based services in schools and community prevention activities.

Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human services, education or related discipline with a master’s degree preferred.

Skills:
Applicant must possess excellent verbal and written skills and demonstrate good classroom management skills. Duties will include public speaking, community organization and direct counseling with individuals and groups.
